Welcome to SomethingAppropriate - a blog dedicted to doing the right thing, in the right place at the right time.
Over the 18 months or so I've been having a bit of fun with creating playlists to share with my friends. For some reason that was no doubt appropriate at the time, these house music compilations became named RAW Tunes. Volumes 1, 2 and 3 of RAW Tunes were put together in 2005 to the supposed delight of a my closest friends.
After a 9 month hiatus, and with the inspiration of my annual trip to Ibiza I've put together a 3 CD compilation of quality house music - RAW Tunes Ibiza 2006. Some of these are the 'Ibiza choons' of 2006, whilst others are tracks that I've enjoyed listening to over the last 6 months. A very large number of tracks ended up on the cutting room floor, such was the quality of the music that I've been rating recently.
In a fit of enthusiasm, and spurred on by the The Shermanator's Ibiza After Party I decided to mix the compilations this time. Or perhaps I should be a little more honest - use a bit of creative cross fade. So, working within the limitations of GarageBand on my beloved Mac, and learning as I went (i.e. only on the third attempt did I work out a way to kind-of-beat-match!) I've created 3 80 minute AAC compilations:
01 - Sunny - music from and inspired by the legendary Hotel Es Vive where we spent qualty sunbathing time
02 - Shiny - funky, glitterball, happy, vocal house that kept us on the dance floors
03 - Dirty - deeper house
I've published the playlists on this blog, and if my friends are lucky I'll give them copy of the mixes - as long as they promise to purchase the CDs, of course! ;-)
